Simon Gilchrist

Simon is an Australian physiotherapist who graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 1998 and completed his Master of Sports Physiotherapy in 2005, achieving the title of APA Sports Physiotherapist. He has recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Diagnostic Ultrasound, which he uses to assess soft tissue pathology — including tendon and muscle tears — in combination with clinical reasoning to support accurate diagnosis. He is a highly sought-after practitioner with over 18 years of experience leading a busy practice in Marylebone before creating an exciting partnership with Matt Roberts.

Simon takes a proactive approach to physiotherapy and sports medicine, with a strong belief in hands-on treatment combined with specific rehabilitation programmes. He uses manual techniques, neural mobilisation, and manipulation, often alongside acupuncture and dry needling, and works with many patients who have not responded to conservative or surgical management to restore function and return them to their chosen lifestyle.

A former 400m runner who completed a stage of the Tour de France, Simon has a particular interest and extensive experience in track and field, cycling, and football. He has worked with international athletes including tennis players, footballers, and champion jockeys, and travelled extensively with Australian Olympic athletes throughout Europe. He guest lectures at the Royal College of Surgeons and has contributed two chapters to a sports medicine textbook. His clinical interests are centred on knee and spinal rehabilitation, tendon pathology, and preventative medicine.
