Yes. BIOME has direct relationships with highly regarded specialists across all major fields, and their GPs are experienced in making fast, well-informed referrals where needed. 

Having both GP and physiotherapy care accessible through Mayfair Health means your clinicians can communicate more easily and your care is better joined up. If your physiotherapist identifies a concern that warrants a GP review, they can recommend BIOME directly.

Osteopathy

Shockwave Therapy

 Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy sound waves to stimulate tissue repair at a cellular level. It is one of the most effective interventions available for chronic tendon conditions and soft tissue injuries that have not responded to conventional physiotherapy alone — offering a clinically evidenced route to recovery without surgery or injections. 

At Mayfair Health, we use the Piezowave2 — a direct focused shockwave machine that delivers more precise, more effective treatment than the radial shockwave devices used in most clinics. Shockwave is always used as part of a comprehensive physiotherapy treatment plan, never as a standalone intervention.

Diagnostic Ultrasound

Diagnostic ultrasound is a powerful clinical tool that allows our physiotherapists to see exactly what is happening inside your body in real time, without radiation, and without the wait of an external referral. At Mayfair Health, diagnostic ultrasound is used as an integral part of our clinical assessment process, providing the structural detail that enables us to be more precise, more confident and more effective in the way we treat you. 

Rather than relying on clinical examination alone, your physiotherapist can use ultrasound imaging to visualise tendons, muscles, ligaments, bursae and other soft tissue structures directly, identifying the pathology contributing to your pain and tailoring your treatment accordingly. When necessary, findings are also used to facilitate timely referral to sports physicians, orthopaedic consultants or other specialist clinicians within our trusted network.
