How we Help
Physio-Led Clinical Pilates
Physio-Led Clinical Pilates is an exclusively one-to-one session designed, delivered and clinically overseen by a specialist physiotherapist. It is a targeted clinical intervention — using Pilates methodology as a rehabilitation and management tool, adapted at every stage to your specific diagnosis, symptoms and goals.
For patients with complex conditions, post-surgical needs or presentations where exercise must be prescribed with precision, Physio-Led Clinical Pilates provides the highest level of clinical care within a movement setting. Your physiotherapist retains full clinical responsibility throughout and adapts every session based on how you are progressing.
Who Is Physio-Led Clinical Pilates For?
- Post-surgical rehabilitation — including spinal, hip, knee, shoulder and abdominal surgery
- Hypermobility and connective tissue disorders — hEDS, HSD and related conditions
- Women’s health — prenatal, postnatal, perimenopause and menopause
- Chronic pain and complex musculoskeletal conditions
- Neurological conditions where Pilates-based movement is indicated
- Patients referred by their physiotherapist as part of an integrated rehabilitation programme
Instructor-Delivered Clinical Pilates
Instructor-Delivered Clinical Pilates is delivered by our specialist trained Pilates instructors with clinical Pilates expertise, working closely alongside the physiotherapy team. Sessions use the full suite of professional apparatus — Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair and more — and are exclusively one-to-one.
The resistance, feedback and variety provided by equipment-based Pilates makes it a particularly powerful tool for building joint stability, improving neuromuscular control, restoring strength and supporting key life stages such as perimenopause and menopause.
Who Is Instructor-Delivered Clinical Pilates For?
- Rehabilitation following injury, surgery or a musculoskeletal condition
- Hypermobility and connective tissue disorders
- Women’s health — prenatal, postnatal, perimenopause and menopause
- Chronic pain and postural conditions
- Performance and injury prevention for active individuals and athletes
- Those who want the benefits of equipment-based Pilates with clinical expertise behind every session
The Benefits of Equipment-Based Pilates
Working with Pilates apparatus provides something mat-based work cannot: resistance, spring tension, moving surfaces and tactile feedback that challenge the body in three dimensions. For patients rebuilding strength and stability, this means:
- Greater proprioceptive input — helping the nervous system learn where joints are in space
- Variable resistance — allowing load to be precisely calibrated to your current capacity
- Supported positions — making certain exercises accessible that would otherwise be too demanding
- Progressive challenge — equipment can be adjusted as your strength and control develop

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Physio-Led and Instructor-Delivered Clinical Pilates?
In Physio-Led Clinical Pilates, a specialist physiotherapist designs and delivers every session and retains full clinical responsibility throughout — suited to those with complex presentations, post-surgical needs or conditions requiring the highest level of clinical oversight. Instructor-Delivered Clinical Pilates is delivered by a specialist trained instructor working closely alongside the physiotherapy team, and is suited to a broader range of patients. Our team will advise which is most appropriate for you.
Do I need a physiotherapy assessment first?
Your initial Physio-Led Clinical Pilates session includes a full physiotherapy assessment, so no separate appointment is required. For Instructor-Delivered Clinical Pilates, your instructor will carry out a thorough movement assessment at your first session.
Is Clinical Pilates covered by private health insurance?
Physio-Led Clinical Pilates is delivered by a physiotherapist and may be covered under your physiotherapy benefit. We recommend contacting your insurer in advance to confirm your cover.
How is Clinical Pilates different from Instructor-Led Pilates?
Clinical Pilates — whether physio-led or instructor-delivered — is designed around rehabilitation or therapeutic goals and is grounded in a clinical understanding of anatomy and movement dysfunction. Instructor-Led Pilates is focused on fitness and general movement quality. Both are personalised and delivered by experts; the distinction lies in the clinical framework applied.
Is it suitable for complete beginners?
Yes. Clinical Pilates is suitable for all experience levels. Your practitioner will assess your starting point and build your programme accordingly — no prior Pilates experience is needed.

I had a very positive experience with Adriana P. She is a knowledgeable and attentive instructor, with strong expertise in pregnancy Pilates. The exercises were always appropriate and well tailored, but what I appreciated most was her genuine care for how I was feeling, she constantly checked that I was comfortable and adapted each session to my needs on the day. She supported me with professionalism and reassurance throughout such a special time, making me feel safe and very well looked after!![]()
