Consultant Physiotherapist

Meet Shari

Shari is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist who completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours at Monash University in 2008, a Postgraduate Certificate and Master of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at La Trobe University in 2015, and a year-long Postgraduate Clinical Anatomy course at Monash. She is a certified Dance Medicine Australia Clinical Pilates Instructor and holds advanced credentials in the McKenzie Method, APA Spinal and Sports Levels 1 and 2, Advanced Neuromuscular Dry Needling, and specialist training in knee, shoulder, hamstring, and pelvic rehabilitation. She also holds academic and examining posts at Monash, La Trobe, Queen Mary University, and ISEH at UCL, and serves as London Clinical Supervisor for La Trobe’s Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Masters programme.

Shari is a deeply experienced clinician who has consulted in private practice and taught Clinical Pilates since 2008. Her approach bridges acute hospital recovery — treating complex post-surgical cases in several private hospitals — and long-term functional vitality. She believes in treating the whole person, addressing root causes rather than symptoms, and draws on an extensive network of London’s leading spinal surgeons, orthopaedic consultants, pain specialists, sports doctors, neurologists, and rheumatologists to ensure fully integrated, world-class care.

Shari’s primary focus is on complex multi-layered cases, spinal conditions, persistent pain, and hypermobility spectrum disorders. She has extensive experience with elite and recreational athletes — from Olympic fencers and Ironman competitors to dancers, cyclists, and competitive sailors — as well as pre- and post-natal mothers and older adults. Her specialist interests include complex spinal pain, lumbar disc injuries, cervical spine dysfunction, spinal fusion and post-surgical rehabilitation, Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD), hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), and fall prevention.

Areas of Interest: Complex spinal pain, lumbar disc injuries, cervical spine dysfunction, spinal fusion rehabilitation, total joint replacement rehabilitation, arthroscopic surgery, complex tendon repairs, HSD, hEDS, CRPS, persistent pain, pre- and post-natal care, fall prevention and balance restoration.

Skills & Techniques: Clinical Pilates (mat and equipment), dry needling, manual therapy, neural mobilisation, breathing retraining, pain neuroscience education, gait analysis, balance and proprioception retraining, hydrotherapy, strength and conditioning, physio-taping.
