How we Help
Understanding Hip Pain
The hip is a complex ball and socket joint supported by an intricate network of muscles, tendons, ligaments, and a cartilage ring called the labrum. Hip pain can originate from within the joint itself, from the surrounding soft tissues, or be referred from the lumbar spine, making accurate diagnosis essential.
Common hip conditions we treat include hip osteoarthritis, femoroacetabular impingement, labral tears, greater trochanteric pain syndrome and bursitis, gluteal tendinopathy, hip flexor strains, and post surgical rehabilitation following hip replacement or arthroscopy.
Hip pain may present as groin pain, outer hip pain, buttock pain, or stiffness and is frequently aggravated by prolonged sitting, walking, climbing stairs, or lying on the affected side.
How We Can Help
Our clinicians conduct a comprehensive assessment of hip joint mechanics, movement patterns, muscle strength, and spinal and lower limb alignment, building a complete picture of what is driving your symptoms before any treatment begins.
Treatment is tailored to your diagnosis and goals and may include joint mobilisation, soft tissue therapy, targeted strengthening of the hip and gluteal musculature, movement re-education, activity modification, and clinical Pilates integration where appropriate. For patients approaching or recovering from hip surgery, we provide structured pre and post operative rehabilitation programmes.
What to Expect
We recommend starting with a thorough 60 minute assessment. You will receive a clear diagnosis, an explanation of the contributing factors, and a structured treatment plan with realistic expectations at every stage.
Whether your hip pain is recent or has been building for years, our team has the clinical depth to help, including patients who have been through treatment elsewhere without lasting relief.
No GP referral required. Available across all clinics.
