Services Available at Our South Kensington Clinic

Our South Kensington location offers the full range of Mayfair Health services – some listed below, delivered by clinicians who combine clinical training with practical, results-focused care. We also offer private GP consultations at the clinic for patients who need medical assessment, referrals, health screening or sick notes without NHS waiting times.

Physiotherapy

Our physiotherapists assess and treat musculoskeletal injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, sports injuries and persistent pain. Each appointment begins with a structured assessment before any treatment is recommended. We do not prescribe a set number of sessions before seeing how you respond – your treatment plan is reviewed and adjusted as you progress.

Sports Injury Rehabilitation

From acute sprains and muscle tears to overuse injuries and post-surgical returns to sport, our sports injury clinicians have extensive experience working with athletes at all levels – recreational runners through to competitive and professional sportspeople.

Spinal Treatment

Back and neck pain are among the most common reasons people seek physiotherapy. Our clinicians are experienced in treating disc-related issues, postural pain, nerve pain and spinal rehabilitation following surgery or prolonged periods of reduced mobility.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy takes a manual, whole-body approach to diagnosing and treating pain and restricted movement. Our registered osteopaths treat a wide range of conditions affecting the spine, joints, muscles and nerves.

Pilates

Our South Kensington studio offers clinical and performance pilates in both one-to-one and specialist formats. Sessions are led by instructors who work closely with the physiotherapy team, making this particularly well suited to rehabilitation and injury prevention.

Available formats include:

  • One-to-one Pilates (clinical and performance)
  • Pre and postnatal Pilates
  • Post-operative Pilates
  • Performance Pilates

Personal Training

Personal training sessions take place in our fully equipped private gym on Brompton Road. All trainers work in close collaboration with the clinical team, which means your training can be structured around any injury history, rehabilitation goals or health considerations.

Shockwave Therapy

Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) is a clinically supported treatment for persistent tendon problems, including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy and rotator cuff conditions. Sessions are available at our South Kensington clinic.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is offered as part of a broader physiotherapy treatment plan for pain management, muscle tension and recovery support. Our practitioners are trained in both Western medical acupuncture and traditional approaches.

Women's Health Physiotherapy

Our women’s health service covers pelvic floor assessment and rehabilitation, pre and postnatal care, prolapse management and support for conditions such as incontinence and pelvic pain.

Diagnostic Ultrasound

Diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound allows for real-time imaging of soft tissue structures – tendons, ligaments, muscles and bursae – without the need for a GP referral. This is available in-clinic for patients where imaging will inform treatment decisions.

Bone Health Clinic

Our Bone Health Clinic offers a comprehensive, evidence-based programme for anyone looking to assess, protect or improve their bone health, whether as a preventive measure or in response to a diagnosis of osteopenia or osteoporosis. The clinic brings together specialist assessment and targeted treatment within a single integrated service.

Available at our South Kensington clinic, the programme includes:

Echolight REMS Scan: a radiation-free ultrasound-based assessment that measures bone mineral density and bone quality, providing a T-score and fragility score without the need for a GP referral

  • BioDensity Training: short, supervised sessions using the BioDensity V5 machine to apply high-intensity osteogenic loading, stimulating the body’s natural bone regeneration process
  • MBST Therapy: a non-invasive treatment using magnetic resonance technology to support bone and cartilage regeneration
  • Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy: clinically supported treatment for bone-related conditions including stress fractures and tendon pathology
  • Bone Strength and Conditioning Programme: one-to-one physiotherapist-led sessions combining targeted resistance training and specialist equipment to stimulate bone formation, improve functional strength and reduce fracture risk
  • Bone Strengthening Class: a physiotherapist-led group class designed to improve bone health, strength and confidence with movement. Classes run twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays, 3–4pm, at our South Kensington clinic

Our Practitioners

All clinical practitioners at Mayfair Health are registered with the relevant professional bodies – the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) for physiotherapists, and the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) for osteopaths. Registration with these bodies requires practitioners to maintain continued professional development and adhere to a code of conduct.

Our clinical team has experience across sports medicine, post-operative rehabilitation, women’s health, spinal care and performance. Several members have backgrounds working with professional sports teams and high-performance athletes, as well as clinical NHS experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a GP referral to book at your South Kensington clinic?
No. You can book directly for most services, including physiotherapy, osteopathy, Pilates and personal training. If you are using private health insurance, check whether your policy requires a GP referral before you can claim – this varies by insurer and policy. For diagnostic ultrasound, a referral is not required but a brief clinical history is helpful.

What conditions do your South Kensington physiotherapists treat?
Our physiotherapists treat a broad range of musculoskeletal and sports-related conditions, including back and neck pain, knee and hip problems, shoulder injuries (including rotator cuff conditions), ankle sprains, tendinopathies, post-surgical rehabilitation and persistent or recurring pain. If you are unsure whether your condition falls within our remit, call us and we will advise.
How long does a physiotherapy appointment last?
Initial assessments are typically 60 minutes. Follow-up sessions are usually 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the treatment involved. Exact session lengths are confirmed at the time of booking.
Where is the clinic and how do I get there?
The clinic is at 230 Brompton Road, SW3 2BB, inside the Evolution Club. The nearest tube stations are South Kensington (District, Circle and Piccadilly lines, approximately 5 minutes on foot) and Sloane Square (District and Circle lines, approximately 8 minutes on foot). Several bus routes serve Brompton Road, including the 14, 74 and C1.
How is Mayfair Health different from other physiotherapy clinics in London?
We do not think it is helpful to make broad comparisons with other providers. What we can say is that our clinicians have backgrounds across sport, surgery and clinical practice; that all our physiotherapy and osteopathy staff are registered with the relevant statutory bodies; and that our South Kensington clinic offers a private gym and Pilates studio alongside clinical consulting rooms – which means rehabilitation, conditioning and performance work can all take place under one roof.
How do I book an appointment at your South Kensington clinic?
You can book online via our booking system at any time, or call us on 020 3985 1500 during clinic hours. If you are unsure which service is right for you, call and a member of the team will help you identify the most appropriate starting point.
