Pre and Post Natal Pilates
What is Pre and Post Natal Pilates?
Pre and Post Natal Pilates is designed specifically for those who are going to give birth and those have already.
In these sessions our aim is to provide understanding of the importance movement has on the baby and the mother. This is because every pregnancy is different and we prioritize these sessions to work on your specific goals as well as what you may need in particular to sustain a healthy pregnancy.
WHO SHOULD DO PRE AND POST-NATAL PILATES?
Those who are thinking of having a baby, those who are pregnant and those who have given birth and allowed 6-8 weeks after birth to come back to Pilates, are all safe to practice movement again, so long as you have no contraindications.
This Pilates repertoire can help to accelerate recovery after birth as well as maintaining overall wellbeing to Mom and baby. Additionally, our personalised Pilates program can also be successful in healing diastasis recti, which is common in postpartum women.
Pilates is here to support your pregnancy at every stage, but one thing to remember is to always listen to your body. Pilates during pregnancy is not a time to level up in this practice but, rather to move at your own pace and to listen to your body.
What are the benefits of Pre and Post Natal Pilates?
Provided you are healthy and have no contraindications, exercise is paramount to pregnancy.
During pregnancy research shows that between 150-300minutes of exercise has many favourable benefits to pregnant both Pre and Post birth. To list a few benefits:
• Strengthens deep tissue and muscle stabilizers
