ABOUT Sam

Katy–Alice

Sam is a registered physiotherapist from Australia, graduating from La Trobe University in 2020 with a Masters of Physiotherapy Practice and a Bachelor of Applied Science. Since finishing his studies, he has worked in a busy private practice in Melbourne, seeing a broad spectrum of clients. This ranged from high level athletes looking to optimise their performance, to those invested in wanting to feel and move better day to day.

Over his career, Sam has developed a love for treating clients with lower limb injuries and persistent pain, focusing on the whole person rather than just the individual pathology. He has a particular interest in running and related overuse injuries, keeping up to date with the latest research and completing online courses. Having worked in sports such as Hockey and Australian Rules Football over the past 7 years at state and local levels respectively, Sam is well equipped to deal with clients wanting to maximise their performance and understands the time pressures of elite sport.

Sam utilises a variety of modalities and techniques in his treatment, believing that the best outcomes are achieved through empowering his clients with the right tools and guidance through their rehabilitation journey. He uses manual therapy in conjunction with strength and conditioning, load management and lifestyle modification to treat the cause of the problem, not just the symptoms.
