ABOUT Tilemachos Pissas
He specialises in complex shoulder pathology, post-operative rehabilitation (including ACL reconstruction, shoulder and hip surgery), tendon-related pain, and comprehensive return-to-sport testing. He uses diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound to support the assessment of MSK conditions and to help guide clinical decision-making alongside thorough physical examination.
As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA CSCS), Tilemachos bridges the gap between rehabilitation and high performance, integrating strength profiling, load management, and advanced rehabilitation principles to ensure patients return stronger, more resilient and performance-ready.
He has extensive experience working in elite sport environments, including professional tennis and football, and currently works within the academy system of Arsenal FC, supporting the rehabilitation, load management, and performance development of elite youth footballers within a Category One academy structure.
Earlier in his career, he served in Greece as a physiotherapist within the Hellenic Army’s Supreme Sports Council, working as both a military medic and clinician supporting national-level athletes and military personnel. This role strengthened his expertise in acute injury management and high-performance rehabilitation.
Tilemachos presents annually at orthopaedic and sports medicine conferences on shoulder rehabilitation, performance optimisation, and return-to-play strategies. He is currently an MSc candidate in Strength and Conditioning at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, further advancing his expertise in performance science and athletic development.
As an active top-tier UK water polo athlete, he brings a unique dual perspective as both clinician and competitor, delivering performance-driven, evidence-based care grounded in elite sport.
